    Becoming a MATA Member

Attention Athletic Trainers – There are two routes to becoming an MATA member.

The first route is rather simple, maintain membership with the National Athletic Trainers Association make sure your address of record is a Maryland address. A portion of your national membership dues is funneled down to the state level and that makes you a dues paying member of the state organization. If you currently work in the state of Maryland but your address of record with the NATA is in a state outside of Maryland, your dues money is funneled down to that state. This makes you a member of that state’s organization.

If you are unsure of your address of record, go to the NATA website, click on Membership and then Update Membership Information to check your profile. If your address is currently not in Maryland and you would like to become an MATA member, it is a simple as changing your address of record with the NATA to your work address in Maryland. If you do not wish to change your address of record, you may also download the form below, fill it out and submit it with payment to the MATA to join the MATA separately.

The second route is for those individuals who no longer pay NATA dues. As such you are no longer a member of the state organization. In order to join the state organization, please submit the online application and indicate that you are not a NATA member. Once you have submitted this form, you will be asked to submit payment to the MATA for membership. Once payment is received, you will be granted access to the MATA List Serv, the MATA web site, receive legislative and news updates from Executive Council and other benefits that are still to be determined.
