ETHICS

Chair:

Brian Ebel, LAT, ATC

About:
Th
e Ethics Committee is responsible for educating the MATA membership on the importance of upholding the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) Code of Ethics, as well as the ethical principles of our professions’ other governing bodies, fellow associations, and committees.  These bodies include the Maryland Board of Physicians (MBP), the Board of Certification (BOC), the NATA, and the NATA’s Committee on Professional Ethics (COPE).

When violations are reported involving both a member of the MATA and an infraction of any of the above ethical codes, rules and regulations, or MATA By-Laws, the Ethics Committee accepts and investigates the matter.  The committee then reports its findings and recommendations to the MATA Executive Committee for adjudication.
